Why Pets Are More Vulnerable



Based on your pet's behavior, you might have a hard time thinking that he could ever be affected by a few chemicals in the home. After all, he eats dirt, grooms himself in the most private of places, and might even bring you some nasty treats from outside. Yet with all of pets' unsavory habits, they can still have delicate systems that need care.

Close Exposure

Pets are in closer proximity to problematic items in your home than you might realize. Dust and toxins that accumulate on the floor and in fibers of a rug can be unhealthy to anyone in a home. A pet, however, is much closer to the floor and can inhale more of these substances than a person. The same is true for cleaning products, lawn care products, and more.

Eating Everything

Not only are pets closer to potential toxins, but they also consume more of them. Indoors, pets have a tendency to lick floors to pick up bits of food or water, which means they are also licking up the dust and residues that have been left on the floor from cleaning or from daily foot traffic.
Pets also eat a lot of stuff outside. From dirt and sticks to plants and puddles of water, pets are not afraid of ingesting what they discover in the great outdoors. If those items have been treated with chemical sprays and other treatments, your pets will directly ingest the toxins.
